Spreading God's Word Through Song
Steve's calling is to minister to the lost and hurting through God's word in song and testimony. He believes that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and operates in the gifts of the Spirit and is respectful to the move of God's Spirit.
Steve began singing at age nine listening with his parents to southern gospel groups like The Cathedral Quartet and The Inspirations. It wasn't until age eleven that Steve realized that he needed God in his life and gave his heart to the Lord in a revival service in Dallas, Texas. He began to develop his voice and a deep appreciation for southern gospel music thereafter.
Steve joined the sanctuary choir shortly after his conversion. When he was sixteen, Steve started singing in a quartet as a lead/baritone with his father and two other gentlemen. After high school, he linked in to his home church and became active as a vocalist and bassist for the praise and worship team, youth praise and worship team and eventually became Minister of Music.
Steve developed an adult choir along with a youth choir during his tenure with his home church along with coordinating singers and events. Through his career, he has sang with The Jubil-Heirs of Seagoville, Texas; KingsRiver of Fort Worth, Texas; and his own family group, The Tunis Family, where he was joined by his wife, sister and late father.
Throughout his singing career, Steve has had a solo ministry, Steve Tunis Ministries, into which he now embarks with renewed dedication and determination to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ and a message of hope and encouragement to believers and non-believers alike.
