Passing of former member, Sue Stewart
On November 21st,2008 Sue Stewart, former pianist for Tender Mercies went home to be with the Lord. Sue's death was due to an automobile accident in Jacksonville, TX. She will be sorely missed but we know that she is in the presents of our Savior and rejoicing.

Calvary Baptist Church
It was sure felt good to be "back in the saddle" so to speak last Sunday. We were at Calvary Baptist Church in Rusk, TX with Bro. Terry & Lori Neid. This was the 5th time to be at Calvary and each time is a blessing. This was our fist concert after our brief retirement. On a sad note though, it was Bro. Terry's last Sunday as pastor at Calvary. Please join in prayer with us as they seek God's will in their ministry.

Out of Retirement
In 2007 Tender Mercies officially retired. Not for long, as God had other ideas. Not long after our retirement began we were presented with an opportunity to form a new trio. After much prayer and patience, God reformed the group back into a female trio. The group is 21 years old and except for the last 5 years it had always been a ladies trio. After much consideration we decided to keep the Tender Mercies name and keep on singing for Jesus.

LIMITED SCHEDULE

Some of you may have noticed that our schedule has not been as full as in past years. That is by design. Due to circumstances and family obligations we feel it necessary to cut back on our schedule a little. So, I say all that to say this; if you would like to book Tender Mercies into your church please call. We will, if at all possible, try to accommodate as many of you as we can with our limited schedule.

In Christ,
David, Nancy, Tina, and Tim

UPDATE ON NANCY & DAVID'S GRANDSON

Yesterday, Parker turned two months old. He's spent the first two months of his life in the Harris Methodist NICU unit after being born on Dec. 21st with some severe complications.

Today (Wed.), Camille and I were told we could "room in" at the NICU tonight - the last step before they let you take your baby home! God willing, Parker will see his home for the first time on Thursday!

Tonight, Parker is sleeping in our room so they can evaluate how well he will do in a real-world situtation. So far, all signs point to the positive. He has topped the 6 pound mark (by 2/10 of an ounce) and is almost 18 inches long.

Camille and I want to thank you for the prayers and support you have provided. We know we wouldn't have made it through this without you. Most of all, we thank God for healing Parker. Our lives have been changed - more than we EVER thought. So many positive things have come out of this experience, and we are thankful for that and look forward to the joy and love for many years to come.

UPDATE ON NANCY & DAVID'S GRANDSON

The last nine months has been a "real trip", as some would say. But we all see it as a plan that God set into motion long ago. For those of you that have been following the story of our grandson, Parker Crim, I thought it would be a good time to bring you up to date. Since the last news report, around Jan 3rd, God has been in the healing business. Not to say he isn't always in business, but in this case he has been working overtime. During the last 30 something days, Parker has survived a "crusted" vent tube that gave us quite a scare with an infection and loss of breath. Once that was corrected, Parker had to survive double hernia surgery, an inspection of his trechea and the draining of the "unknown" fluid from his abdomen. On Jan 31st, the ventilator was removed from Parker and he began breathing on his own. Today Parker weighs approximately 5 lb 5 oz and will soon, with God's help, be drinking from his bottle. This should lead to him going home soon. Praise GOD!!!

This has been quite an experience for all of us. The outpouring of love, prayers, calls, cards, and e-mails has been overwhelming. It has been so awesome to see God at work in so many people's lives through the birth of a child. My son, Andy, and his wife, Camille, are so amazed and their faith has been strengthened.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for Parker as he continues to heal and grow.

ANSWERED PRAYER, MIRACLES, & BLESSINGS

The month of December, particularly since December 19th has been a very trying time for David and Nancy. On the 19th David & Nancy's son, Andy, and his wife Camille, who were expecting their first child, were told that the baby was in serious condition. On the 21st the doctors decided to take little Parker Crim two months early. The doctors gave little hope that Parker would survive for more than an hour. The doctor said it would be a miracle if he did. Well, that is exactly what happened. Tomorrow, Parker will be two weeks old. The prognosis is good. God answered lots of prayers. Parker still has some obstacles to overcome but with God's strength and our prayers we believe he will make it.
God was not finished! On Saturday Dec 31st, David and Nancy was blessed with a great grandson, Corbin Provincio-Smith. Mother and boy are doing well.
David and Nancy's Christmas holidays were not quite what they expected them to be. They are extremely tired but more than that, they are extremely blessed. God is GOOD!!!

2006 WINTER VACATION

Starting on January 9th, 2006 Tender Mercies will take a much needed vacation until approximately April 1st, 2006. It has been quite some time since the group has had some time off and we felt that this would be an ideal time to catch up on some family time. David and Nancy will become great-grandparents during this time as well as grandparents again. They are looking forward to spending some time playing with babies.
We are currently booking dates after April 1st so call early to get yours.
