| New Jubil-Hiers We are proud to announce that James and Myrlas Bateman of Canton, Tx have joined our team. These two certainly have servents hearts and are in love with Jesus (number one requirement to be in ministry IMHO)! James plays rhythm guitar and drums, writes and sings a good song. His wife Myrlas sings a good song too and helps out on sound and at the table. We are so blessed to have them with us. Come out and meet these fine Christian folks as soon as you can. Be blessed.

Lord,Hide Us Behind the Cross
Slaton Concert at High School; Randy Mullino, The Greenlees; Jack Stone and Deb; and the Jubil-Heirs. As always, all the groups did a good job in their individual parts of the program, but the real attraction seemed to be the 2nd half of the program when all the singers gathered on the platform together. Randy, Benny and Jack did some solo work while the rest of us provided the back-up vocals and the crowd sang along with the old-time favorites. Written by Frank Ligon
Muleshoe We had a great time at Bro. Jack Stones church from Sunday-School through the morning service. Bro. Jack came to the platform to begin the service with congregational singing and the Holy Spirit came and filled our hearts with joy. We invited Bro. Jack to sing a couple of songs with us later in the program and he accidentally preached a little during that time. (You know, thats just what preachers do. We could have listened to much more, but it didnt work out that way.) It was a great time and we left there rejoicing with our hearts full. Written by Frank Ligon
Lubbock Sunday night at Cornerstone in Lubbock closely resembled Sunday morning at Muleshoe. Bro. Tilley started the service with congregational singing and it literally felt like the back door opened and the Holy Spirit walked in and embraced everyone in the place. It felt much like it must have felt in the upper room as everyone turned their hearts to God in one accord. From the opening note of music, through the altar call, the Spirit moved, the people prayed, and God touched lives. What a privilege it is for us to be allowed to go to all of these wonderful services and be blessed in such a wonderful way. Praise the Lord for these great opportunities. Written by Frank Ligon
Hatfield, Arkansas (Mena on the schedule) It was listed as a concert, but we do tend to have church everywhere we go. When you get together with the Calvary Singers and the Martins, theres a real good chance that church is going to break out anyway. Once again, God met with us and our sweet friends testified and sang us to a wonderful time in the Lord. The evening was great and it was capped off by ?Joe Martins instrumental presentation of Ill Fly Away in which he plays lead guitar, rhythm guitar, banjo, mandolin, keyboard and fiddle. He is truly blessed with enormous musical talent. Written by Frank Ligon
Pine Bluff, Arkansas We made a great first impression at Pine Bluff when our illustrious bus driver inadvertently mowed down the churchs mail box, while backing up, over-shooting the drive way. Luckily, the folks at the church thought it was as funny as we did. The evening began with part of the Cantwells group carrying on in the absence of Mom and Dad who had to miss the event, due to unavoidable circumstances. They did a great job as always. Our friend Johnny Martin greeted us and we shared a great time of fellowship together. Someone joked later that the crowd would have been larger, but someone had hidden the church address when he knocked down the mailbox. Written by Frank Ligon
Parks, Arkansas Its true! Jerry and Laura either know someone or have relatives everywhere we go. (This was my first time to visit a chicken farm.) We were welcomed by some of Lauras relatives who attend the Parks Baptist Church where we sang. Pastor Joe Yeoman and his brother Harvey were a delight to our souls. These two fine Christian gentlemen have been in the Lords service for many years and are still going strong. Harvey sang his Animal Song to the delight of the Sunday morning crowd. It was fantastic. The Lord moved in this service and souls were added to His kingdom. Once again, we were and continue to be blessed beyond measure. Written by Frank Ligon
Friday night Spaghetti Supper Benefit for Old Fashioned Spirit-Filled Church, Wills Point, Tx The Jubil-Heirs had the opportunity to sing at a spaghetti supper to benefit the Old Fashioned Spirit Filled Church of Able Springs, Tx. Our good friend, Pastor Gerald Huckabee and the church members plan to update the small, existing fellowship hall by adding a 40 by 40 foot extension. The supper was held at the Wills Point Chamber of Commerce. Great fellowship, great food and good old southern gospel music, what more could you ask for? We sang for a half-hour then decided to sample the food. I was the first (and probably the only) of the Jubil-Heirs to get spaghetti sauce on my clothing. After eating, we sang for about another hour. A good time was had by all. -Written by Bill Ligon
Boyd Unit of TDC No surprises here. We always look forward to the showers of blessing that accompany every visit to the Boyd Prison Unit. The inmates and the prison employees roll out the red carpet and accept us with open arms, assistance moving our equipment and plenty of good cold ice water. These guys really know how to worship. As always, the Holy Spirit was present and we were truly blessed as the Prison Praise Band performed some excellent praise songs and we got a glimpse of what some of their services are like when we are not there. Of course, they were very responsive to our part of the program, especially when Laura invited one of them to join her as she sang Swing Low Sweet Chariot. We will be returning in September for another dose of this sweet spiritual medicine for our souls. Written by Frank Ligon
Lone Pine Baptist Church- Palestine, Tx Our day began with a fine lesson in one of the adult Sunday school classes and then it was on to the morning worship service and a wonderful heart-felt sermon by Pastor Ron. The main event of the day was an afternoon reception for the mom and dad of our good friend Don Calcote. A. B. Calcote and his lovely bride of 60+ years, Mildred, were being honored for their many years of dedicated service at the church. It was noted that A. B. had been an active deacon for over 53 years. Many folks came to wish them well and share stories of their remembrances through the years. After the reception, everyone moved to the auditorium for our musical presentation. Thanks to the Pastor and Bro. Don Calcote for inviting us to be a part of this special day for two very special people. Written by Frank Ligon
Saturday, Lancaster Nursing Center - We had a great time singing for our good friends at the Lancaster Nursing Center. Our brothers and sisters there are always ready to enter into praise and worship as we sing those beloved old hymns and gospel songs. They may be handicapped in body but their souls and spirits are as free as the wind! Brother Pete preached the glory down. One elderly, black gentleman danced across the floor in front of us and testified all the way back to his seat. It was one of those very special times! - Written by Bill Ligon
In Conclusion: First one thing and then another prevented me from traveling with the Jubil-Heirs during the entire Month of June. I missed them and all of you so much, but I felt God was calling me in other directions and I felt I must be obedient.
The name of the contributor is noted at the end of each write-up and I want to take this opportunity to offer a special Thanks to my wonderful husband and brother-in-law who so willingly filled the gap in my absence. Theyre both more capable than I, but since I cant do much else, they allow me this privilege of writing about our glorious journeys. I love you both!

| Thanks SGMA! What a honor it was to be named Group of the Year at the SGMA of Texas convention in Nacogdoches, Tx on September 30. We were totally shocked. We will prayerfully go about our ministry and attempt to represent the other SGMA of Texas groups and soloists in a Christ-like manner.
