2 Days Later is a singer/songwriter duo from deep in the Heart of Texas. They are servants of the Most High God carefully disguised as high school teachers. Teaching is their profession, but music is their passion. Both Stephens and Walker feel that God has called them to use their music to encourage, edify, and entertain both in church and secular settings.
"Our name has been a powerful witnessing tool," Stephens said. "When we perform on Branson style opry shows or for civic organizations, someone always asks us where we got a name like 2 Days Later."
"When we explain our name," Walker said," we get to share about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ in a very natural, conversational way."
Country music opened doors for 2 Days Later, but God widened those doors as the duo began to write and perform original gospel music. Thirteen years and six albums later including a Top 20 radio single, the duo continues to serve churches through revivals, concerts, and programs. Stephens has also branched out to lead worship for ladies' retreats.
Stephens teaches government, economics and journalism. She is the publications advisor for Bangs High School. This mother of two is on the road most fall weekends watching her sons play football.
Walker teaches physics and integrated science. He is the owner of Stacy Lane Kennels and a registered breeder of award winning Jack Russell terriers. His family consists of Onion, Solo, Sparkle, Sara, Anna, Spooky, Sasha and Coach.
Stephens and Walker are both actively involved in the music ministry of their home church. Both are members of the praise band and also provide special music as a duo. Walker plays acoustic guitar while Stephens plays keyboards and has experience in leading the choir. Their involvement also includes being a part of the Easter musical drama for the past six years and filling in as worship leaders.
2 Days Later is thankful for the opportunities that God continues to send their way. Stephens and Walker are especially excited about their growth as songwriters and the doors that God seems to be opening in that arena. They are currently under contract with Auburn Mae Publishing of Fort Worth.
